MATERIALS
ELIRS is crafted using high-quality materials such as Sterling Silver, Gold-filled Brass, and Gold-plated Brass. These durable materials are known for their strength, tarnish resistance, and lasting shine, ensuring each piece remains stunning for years to come. With their timeless appeal and resilience, these materials perfectly complement the natural beauty of our hand-selected gemstones.
METALS
Gold Filled: This vermeil is a composite material made by bonding a layer of 14k gold to a base metal such as sterling silver or brass, through heat and pressure. Gold-filled items are more durable, making them more resistant to tarnish and wear, and they maintain their appearance for a longer period.
Sterling Silver: Uses 92.5% pure silver. It's prized in jewelry for its beautiful shine and strength, making it a timeless and affordable choice for elegant pieces.
Gold-plated: Is made by applying a thin layer of gold over a base metal, such as brass or copper, through an electroplating process. Gold-plated jewelry offers excellent versatility, making it a popular choice for stylish designs, though it requires gentle care to maintain its finish over time.

Semi-precious stones are beautifully colored, naturally occurring minerals that are prized for their unique hues, clarity, and energy, while precious stones — like diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires — are celebrated for their exceptional rarity, brilliance, and timeless allure.
Both semi-precious and precious stones have long been cherished not only for their beauty but also for their believed healing properties, each resonating with specific energies and chakras to promote healing, balance, well-being, and intention. When incorporated into jewelry, these radiant gemstones create luxurious pieces that carry both visual splendor and deeper meaning.
CLEANSE + CHARGE SEMI-PRECIOUS/ PRECIOUS JEWELRY
Cleansing and Charging semi-precious stones is an important step in caring for your gemstone jewelry, as it helps to remove any negative energy or impurities that may have accumulated on the stone. Here are some instructions on how to cleanse and charge your semi-precious jewelry:

Full Moonlight: Place your stones in direct moonlight under a full moon for several hours (10-12 hours) to cleanse and recharge them. The moonlight will help to energize the stones and remove any negative energy.

Smudging: Smudging involves using smoke from sage, palo santo, or other herbs to cleanse your stones. Light the herb and let it smolder in a fire-safe bowl or tray, then hold your stones in the smoke for 30 - 60 seconds, and visualize the smoke cleansing the stone of any negative energy. if you cannot do this outside, make sure you open a wide to let smoke and negative energy disperse.

Sound: You can use a singing bowl or a bell to produce sound vibrations that will help to clear negative energy from your stones.

Founder of ELRIS
Growing up in a small town, I was surrounded by the love and strength of two incredible women, my grandmothers Ella and Iris. They broke boundaries at a time when Black women were often told to stay within the lines. In naming ELRIS after them, I celebrate their legacy and their spirit of resilience. As a Black woman, designer, and a Mom, creating my own business has allowed me to color outside the lines, forging a path that is uniquely mine. Every piece in ELRIS is made from semi-precious or precious stones, drawing inspiration from my heritage, nature, and culture, infusing my designs with elements that celebrate my history and identity.
My goal is to help others feel beautiful, confident, and connected to their true selves with every design, and I believe that the power of the earth’s crystals can help reveal the strength within us all.
